The mission of the HCC Counseling Department is to provide holistic support for students pursuing their educational goals. In order to accomplish this mission, HCC will provide a full range of professional services, including personal and mental health counseling, substance use counseling, ADA, Title IX accommodations, academic skills enhancement, Basic Needs, outreach programming, consultation, and crisis intervention.

March is SELF-HARM AWARENESS MONTH

Self-Harm Awareness Month recognizes that self-harm happens across all genders, races, beliefs, and ages. According to the organization Healthy Place, one in five women and one in five men engage in self-injury. Some 90 percent of self-harm starts in adolescence, usually around age 14, and continues into the 20s.
