SEA Student Ambassadors

Objective

SEA Student Ambassadors (SSA) are members of the Society Of Eagle Ambassadors (SEA) Board.  SSA will work closely with SEM faculty and staff members to develop leadership skills and the skills necessary to be successful in both education and the workplace.  SSA will strengthen the knowledge and usage of student success strategies and college resources; engage in active and reflective listening; and practice networking and work-related soft-skills.  This will be accomplished with the support of a strong network of HCC Mentors.

Responsibilities

SEA Student Ambassadors (SSA) will position themselves at the college entrances and hallways to greet students with helpful knowledge about the college offices and processes. SSA will engage with students and will mentor other students throughout the year during non-peak registration.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Assist in SEA event planning and coordination
  • Lead a group of individualized campus tours
  • Facilitate group presentations to new students
  • Participate in recruitment/retention activities
  • Serve as encouraging role models for students

Dress Code

Appropriate student classroom attire

Minimum Qualifications

  • Successful completion of at least 12 semester credit hours at HCC
  • Currently enrolled at HCC
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher
  • Available for some evening and/or weekend activities
  • Possess strong skills in communication, leadership, and interpersonal relations
