Two alumni of the HCC Veterans Entrepreneurship Program have been named among the top five finalists for the inaugural National Entrepreneur of the Year award from the National Association for Community College Entrepreneurship (NACCE).

Kinzah Ali is a proud graduate of the Houston City College Northwest College, where in 2020, she earned an Associate of Science Degree before completing a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from University of Texas at Tyler.

For Dennis J. Yazdanpanah, Houston City College was the launching pad to a rewarding career in civil engineering. After high school, Dennis didn’t immediately pursue college. Instead, he entered the restaurant industry, where long hours and demanding schedules quickly took their toll.
