‘Tis the Season for Graduations and Celebrations

This holiday season, Houston Community College (HCC) celebrated the achievements of nearly 1,400 graduates on December 13, 2024, at a joyous commencement ceremony held at the NRG Arena. The ceremony was a testament to the hard work, dedication, sacrifice and perseverance of these students to achieve this significant milestone.

As the graduates crossed the stage, they were met with cheers and applause from proud family, friends, and faculty alike. The ceremony was filled with hope and excitement as these individuals will embark on new journeys, whether it will be entering the workforce or continuing their education at four-year institutions.

HCC Alumni Affairs is committed to supporting these graduates as they transition into the next phase of their lives. By offering a wide range of services to alumni through Career & Transfer Services, including career advising, access to career fairs and employer-driven workshops, job placement assistance, and lifelong learning programs, Houston Community College aims to empower its alumni to achieve their full potential in their careers through the support of the HCC Alumni Association. The services previously mentioned are available to recent graduates and alumni at no charge.

To symbolize their ongoing connection to HCC, each graduate was presented with a free HCC Alumni Association t-shirt. These t-shirts serve as a reminder of their accomplishments and the support system available to them for years to come. As the new year dawns, these graduates, possessing valuable skill sets, are poised to make a positive impact in the world and the HCC Alumni Association will be with them at every turn in their lives and at each milestone along the way towards career success.

“We want our students to know that HCC’s support of its graduates continues weeks, months, and years after graduation,” said James Mable, Interim Director of Alumni Affairs. “Through the HCC Alumni Association, we intend to stay in touch with graduates to continue offering career assistance and educational resources as they pursue their calling in life.”
