Houston Community College (HCC), now known as Houston City College, Interior Design student Clariza Reyes was announced as one of Gucci’s 2025 Changemakers by the renowned luxury fashion brand.

The 2025 Gucci Changemaker recipients were selected from thousands of applicants across the North American continent. The Changemakers program includes a multi-year $5 million Impact Fund for non-profit organizations and a $1.5 million scholarship program, demonstrating Gucci's commitment to creating lasting social impact in our communities and the fashion industry.

Launched six years ago, Gucci Changemakers is a global program designed to support industry change and build stronger connections through community action. It reflects the house’s long-term commitment to creating lasting social impact both within fashion and far beyond it.

Gucci Changemakers North American focus cities include Atlanta, Chicago, Detroit, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New Orleans, New York, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Toronto, and Washington, DC.

The Scholarship Program offers up to $25,000 to undergraduate students with bold ideas, along with one-on-one mentorship from Gucci insiders. Scholarships are awarded to community college or four-year university students studying fashion, design, art, business, merchandising and other creative or business-oriented programs.

“This recognition for our Ms. Reyes is wonderful and we are thrilled for her,” said Chancellor Margaret Ford Fisher, Ed.D.” It is also evidence of the outstanding  interior design program and its  distinguished faculty.”

“I am never surprised by the amazing creativity of HCC students like Ms. Reyes,” said HCC Central President Dr. Edmund “Butch” Herod. “She will be a great ambassador for HCC as she progresses in her studies and career.”
