Lalou Davies-Yemitan

Mr. Laolu Davies-Yemitan is founding principal of Five Woods Realty, a development firm focused on affordable workforce housing for working and middle-class families. He spearheads the firm’s implementation, capital formation, and execution of strategies to facilitate housing construction and comprehensive community development in underserved communities. As an extension of his work in housing and community development, Laolu has been an advocate for policies that promote affordable housing opportunity, workforce development, and economic mobility for young people and working-class families. Collectively his development efforts have directly resulted in the creation of over 1,000 affordable housing units.

Laolu holds the prestigious Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation and is actively involved in various local and national organizations including Houston Association of Realtors, Greater Houston Builder’s Association, and the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. He serves on the board of directors for the Houston Housing Collaborative, Texas Realtors, and the executive committee of the Texas Lyceum. Laolu also serves as a commissioner of the Harris County Housing Authority and on the University of Houston-Downtown president’s council.

Trustee Davies-Yemitan also serves as an adjunct faculty member teaching undergraduate courses in Entrepreneurship and Real Estate Finance. His public sector experience includes roles as Policy Advisor to a Houston City Council Member and as Legislative Director for a member of the Texas House of Representatives.

Mr. Davies-Yemitan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biotechnology and a Master of Business Administration degree in Finance, both earned from the University of Houston-Downtown.
