General Commencement

Grad Update: Commencement Ceremony Registration Closed April 22

Apr 22, 2024

Due to the venue's capacity and fire code protocols, there is limited space available for each ceremony. As of Monday, April 22, both the morning and afternoon ceremonies reached capacity, and registration was closed.

Unfortunately, this means that students attempting to register for the ceremony on or after the April 22 deadline will not be permitted to participate.

We understand this news may be disappointing, but Commencement Ceremonies involving thousands of approved graduates and their guests are a major production that requires the institution to adhere to safety protocols.

As such, the graduation committee cannot accommodate registrations received after April 21. Knowing how much this milestone means to you, we want to assure you that your accomplishment is no less significant, even if you are unable to attend the ceremony. Please view what can be expected in the coming weeks.

What’s Next | Have Degrees Reflected on Transcripts and Diplomas Mailed

Graduates who cannot attend the Commencement Ceremony will still receive a diploma and have their degree/certificate reflected on their transcripts once it’s confirmed that they have completed all the academic program requirements.

After the end of the semester, the work begins to evaluate the completion of degrees/certificates, post degrees on transcripts, and mail diplomas. Please view the timeline below to understand what to expect.

  1. Degree Audits
The Registrar's Office performs a degree audit to determine if graduates successfully completed the program requirements.

  2. Degrees Reflected on Transcripts
Registrar's Office posts degrees on official transcripts approximately three to four weeks after the official end of the term. The timeline for posting degrees on transcripts is 3-4 weeks after May 15.

  3. Diplomas Mailed
The Registrar's Office will mail diplomas approximately two weeks after all degrees are posted to transcripts.
