About the Program

 
 

Houston Community College’s (HCC) industry-focused Marketing program provides student-centered, up-to-date courses for career readiness. The concepts, principles, and practical experience provided by the HCC Business Center of Excellence Marketing Program strive to meet the ever-changing and growing needs of the industry. Students interested in marketing can choose between two options: a certificate or degree. Marketing-related courses include; Principles of Marketing, International Marketing Management, e-Commerce Marketing, Principles of Retailing, Principles of Selling, Advertising and Sales Promotion, Marketing Research and Strategies, Consumer Behavior, and more.

Five programs in the Business Center of Excellence (COE) have been awarded accreditation by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP). The accredited programs are Accounting, Business Administration, Business Technology, International Business, and Marketing. 

HCC is the only public associate degree-granting institution in Houston that is accredited by ACBSP.

Program Outcomes

Program Information

General Requirements

The AAS in Marketing provides students with the knowledge, skills,  and abilities to pursue a career in marketing, marketing research, advertising, retailing or sales. The degree offers a wide spectrum of courses in all aspects of marketing including marketing services. The program is designed for anyone seeking entry-level employment in the field of Marketing.

TSI testing is required prior to first enrollment for all AAS degrees and level II certificates.

The Marketing Program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP). If you would like to take courses in a language that is not offered online, you would have to do so on campus.

Hybrid Programs Restrictions

Hybrid programs allow students to take a mix of online and face-to-face courses. Hybrid programs offer 50% to 85% of their courses online and the remainder of the curriculum is taken in-person on one of HCC’s campuses. Please contact your advisor for more information about specific program requirements.

Language Option Restrictions

Some hybrid programs require students to participate in foreign language courses as part of the program’s required curriculum. Please contact your advisor for more information about specific program requirements and available language options.
