The Design Society

Promoting Beautiful Lifestyles Through Design Education

What is The Design Society?
The HCC Foundation established The Design Society to engage Houston's fashion and interior design community in support of HCC's award-winning design education programs. Division Chair Kay King notes, "HCC's fashion design and interior design students benefit from the global reputation of our programs and provide a valuable resource for Houston's wonderfully vibrant arts community." Membership in The Design Society provides numerous opportunities for involvement, including invitations to a series of events sponsored by the HCC Fashion and Interior Design programs. Your support will provide valuable financial assistance and advance HCC's role as a leader in design education.

Why should I join The Design Society?
The Design Society is a unique opportunity to support Houston's leading fashion and interior design programs. The Houston Community College Fashion Design program was named one of the top associate degree programs in the United States by the National Council of Instructional Administrators. Both fashion design and interior design were awarded exemplary program status by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. Your commitment will provide inspiration and support to the next generation of aspiring designers. These students will be the fashion innovators of tomorrow.

What are the benefits available to a member of The Design Society?

"As a mother and a retired professional, deciding to change careers late in life was a daunting prospect. I wanted to capitalize on my passion for designing interior spaces, but did not know how best to prepare myself. After lots of research, I knew that the Interior Design program at HCC was the right choice for me. There I learned the necessary skills to gain employment in Houston's thriving interior design industry. Now I am living my dream and have HCC's Interior Design program to thank!"
